Cheesecake is one of our favorite desserts!
We love to bake on our homestead, but quite frankly I tired of baking desserts I couldn’t eat. My chronic illness keeps from eating lots of great foods, so often times I must modify recipes to fit my needs. Can you relate?
Well, after loads of trial and error, I’ve pretty much figured out that my body doesn’t like carbs or sugars. And it loves protein. But how can I live without my beloved cheesecake?
Looking for ways to still enjoy some of the good things in life, I did some experimenting. This recipe is a Hall Heritage Recipe as it came from my late grandmother! She had the best cheesecake known to man, but I found a way to make it lower carb, low sugar and best of all…it tastes GOOD!
This dessert will not spike your blood sugar, satisfies that sweet tooth and gives you a little bit of protein in the process! And if you’re counting calories it’s only 183 calories!
Sometimes I make a low sugar strawberry glaze (see Recipe Notes).
