One of my husband’s favorite meals to eat is homemade lasagna! Unfortunately, I don’t tolerate it well due to the high carbohydrate count and the gluten, but occasionally I make it just for him.
It’s super easy to substitute gluten-free noodles in this recipe. I have often thought of using zucchini noodles made from zucchinis from the garden, but haven’t at this point in time. So if you have an aversion to gluten or carbs, this recipe is super allergy friendly. The only allergy it’s not friendly with, is dairy!
This homemade lasagna recipe is a family recipe.
My mom has been making this for years. It has a lot of meat and cheese. That’s what makes it good!
It is a time-consuming recipe to cook, so take this into consideration before you start. On days I have little to do, I’ll make this one. Just know going into it that it’s not for the busy mom.
What I love about this recipe is that it freezes well. So, if you have a full day of cooking ahead of you and you want to make a double batch, go for it! You’ll have one for dinner and one for the freezer. This is also a great meal for taking to other families. It feeds a lot and for a small family, may even provide leftovers.
