Just as farming has been a part of our family for years, so has faith. Raised in Christ’s church, we grew up attending Sunday school every week, eating at the monthly potlucks and serving our community to the best of our abilities.
We believe God created the world so simple, yet so complex. We see His creation every day on the homestead in our chickens and in our gardening. His completeness of how animals provide needs for our family and our garden never ceases to amaze us.
On this homestead we take time out to think and process life. The parts that elate us and even the parts that make us want to crawl into the barn and never come out! Often times we meditate and pray while completing chores on the homestead or when the garden requires a good weeding. All four of us process our thoughts and emotions in different ways and in our own time.
Most often we go back to our roots and discuss matters at the dinner table. Everyone’s opinion counts and we work together to find solutions to our problems. We aren’t all happy all the time, but we are real together. And being real means being honest and working through our junk and to keep choosing joy in the process.
Our faith is how we keep choosing joy! Even if you are not a person of faith, we hope you will feel the joy we offer through ours. Check out our pictures below of cooking meals for foster families. It’s such a great honor to serve others!
