One of my husband’s favorite meals to eat is homemade lasagna! Unfortunately, I don’t tolerate it well due to the high carbohydrate count and the gluten, but occasionally I make it just for him. It’s super easy to substitute gluten-free noodles in this recipe. I have often thought of using zucchini noodles made from zucchinis from the garden, but haven’t at this point in time. So if you have an aversion to gluten or carbs, this recipe is super allergy friendly. The only allergy it’s not
This week on the homestead we’ve been sick. Fighting head colds and still trying to run the homestead is no fun, so we took a few days of rest. When my eldest is sick, she requests our classic french onion soup recipe. After I called in my prayer warriors, I was able to grant her request. Our classic french onion soup recipe is nothing fancy, but it’s special. What makes our recipe different from other recipes is our homemade bone broth. This broth is AH-MAY-ZING.
One of our family’s all time favorite recipes is gluten free chicken pot pie. We love cooking with fresh food and fresh ingredients in our home. I’ve taught my girls to make this dish and if they can cook it, so can you! There’s nothing more fulfilling than a wholesome meal cooked from scratch and great conversation at the dinner table. This gluten free chicken pot pie casserole is a comfort food to say the least. Filled with farm fresh veggies of all sorts.
We grow a lot of corn on our homestead and our best baked corn casserole is just the recipe to taste our homegrown corn. The best part about it is that it’s gluten free! We are all about living clean around here and that includes our bodies. As most of you know we also favor a high protein low-carb diet. While corn is not low in carbohydrates when you pair it with a great piece of grilled chicken, it all balances out in the end.
One of our family’s all time favorite recipes is chicken pot pie. Eating organic and clean is tough when you don’t have the energy to cook. This recipe is more involved than most I use, but I find it’s worth the extra effort. This recipe is dairy free and (almost) gluten free. You can easily make this gluten free by substituting gluten free crackers for the topping. Chicken Pot Pie Ingredients: 4 chicken breasts (2) 2lb bags of vegetables (I like a lot of veggies!)
